The GCHS Academic team competes with schools around the state in quick recall, future problem solving, and written assessments. Quick recall consists of a series of matches, each with 2 halves lasting 15 minutes, and/or 50 questions (or 12 minutes, 40 questions under new Governor's Cup rules).

The team competes in various tournaments and leagues, including the Green River Regional League, Class A, JV Challenge, and Governor's Cup.
